X-ray was on last night! Clark's first time seeing through things. Clothes. Walls. Skin. They showed him looking through the girls' locker room. Why not the boys' locker room? I guess they thought we just couldn't handle the hotness.
Hey, how long do you think it took for Clark to use his new ability to see through black turtlenecks and lavender dress shirts? Lex's pants of course too. Or do you think Clark respected Lex's privacy?
I'm not sure which I prefer.

Hi there!
This is Nony checking in to tell you about the new developments. I'm not going to be the only person writing in this journal any more. My friends A and Mous will be posting as well.
Now, the purpose of this journal is to have fun and get people involved. We'll talk about any number of subjects, from slash to Clex or each individual's personal interests and pairings, to Sparky, Snarky and Spnarky! If there's anything in particular you'd like us to write about, please ask because we're here to involve everyone. This is probably a bizarre post in general, but bear with me.
First of all, I'm curious as to how people usually friend. This may seem like a ridiculous question since I just went out and friended a bunch of people from flists of flists and didn't ask anyone. Still, I'm curious. What can I say, it's a good thing I'm not a cat.
Not considering people who friend you first, what do you do when you decide you want to friend someone?
a) Comment and ask someone if you can friend them, then friend when they say it's okay;
b) Friend someone, then comment saying you friended them;
c) Friend them and hope they notice/friend back;
d) Other.
On my other LJ I've been known to do a mix of all of the above. I wonder if that's the same for everyone or if you have rules for yourself as to how you friend someone. And yes, I could ask if there's a certain netiquette for friending people but I have a pretty good idea of what it is, and know that I've probably violated that "gentleman's agreement" (and ladies, of course).
The other question about friending is a technical one. According to my "edit friends" section of LJ, everyone who has friended me is someone who I already have friended. Yet when I go to my userinfo page, not all of my "friends of" show up as bold, so it looks like I haven't friended some of you. Has anyone else had this problem? Why does it look like I haven't friended you? Wanting to friend back everyone who's friended me, it's confusing when I go to friend someone because they don't show up as bold but it shows I've already friended that person. I'd say it's about one-third of the people who've friended me who don't show up as bold.
Well, that's today's post. Hope I can initiate some conversation. And if you don't want to talk about flists, go ahead and talk about slash or sexuality or Sparky...
Speaking of Sparky, I've decided that the Sparky/Snarky pairing should be called Spnarky. It's pronounced like Spuh-narky. Rhymes with malarky *g* |

 First of all, thanks to anandangel for the pretty Clex icon, which is the inspiration for today's discussion.
 Before I start, though, I want to thank debc for the Snarky icon. In case you don't know, Snarky the frog is Sparky the big boot-wearing turtle (who is actually a tortoise)'s best friend. Sparky is from Galapagos or not, but Snarky is from Lend-A-Hand Kentucky, where he lived a quiet, unassuming life until the unfortunate accident at the Lily Pad Factory. To distance himself from the trauma, Snarky moved to Galapagos or not, where he met Sparky, who was wearing the most interesting boots made out of Mystical Substance that is available only on Galapagos or not. Sparky and Snarky became very good friends, perhaps even an OTP? But I've reached my limit of three icons, and Clex must be talked about. One last thing, thanks to dorrie6, anandangel, debc, digitalwave, celli, and thdancingferret for telling me all about Sparky and his friend Snarky.
Now, for the slash! But isn't Sparky/Snarky slash? I started in the LotR fandom, enjoying the mythical love of Elves and Men and Hobbits, more concerned with age angst, Orcs, and soul-binding love than with sex. It wasn't until I got into the Smallville fandom that I learned there's a difference between tops and bottoms, and what rimming is. I have to say my Smallville experience has been satisfyingly porny and not nearly as ethereal as my LotR experience, which is fine with me. But free love, all, just because I don't write or read it doesn't mean I don't know it's out there. I never got into HP fandom probably because I haven't read the books or seen the movie; Sports Night I love to read but just am not good enough to write. Another favorite of mine is Hercules/Iolaus from Hercules: the Legendary Journeys, and Xena/Gabrielle is always nice.
I like to read (and write, if I had the access to the shows) all kinds of pairings - m/m, m/f, f/f, although m/f isn't slash. So, for the purposes of this conversation, I'll read m/m and f/f; it's more important to me that the characterization is good than that there's sex, and really, sex without foreplay often turns out to be less satisfying. I'll read just about any position or kink, although I have a preference for Clark topping Lex than Lex topping Clark. I don't see Clark as a bottom, but that's just me. I also don't see Herc as bottom, nor Iolaus, which gets confusing when I try to decide my OTP (one true position) for them, but I do see Iolaus as more of a bottom than Herc. Xena's a top, and I'd love to see Gabrielle get fucked open by a tongue or a cock or a hand. As for Dan and Casey, well, they can do each other space-station style, where there is no up or down and cocks are everywhere. I always wanted to see Beka/Romy, you know from that show Andromeda starring the hunky ex-Herc Kevin Sorbo? Beka and Romy are both hot, don't you think? Too bad the show's lame. I just watch for the slash, and need I mention Seamus Zelazny Harper? I think not.
So that's me. I want to hear about your experiences in slash. What fandoms you got into when, what pairings you like, if you prefer m/m to f/f or don't have a preference. Who's a top, who's a bottom, and would you rather read fucking or sucking or fisting? This is all very curious to me... |

I also realize there's been some uncertainty about my purpose here and why I've friended so many people. I think I put it best in this comment...
I have friended a great number of people. I've kept the people I friend to those who are interested in what I already told you, slash/smallville/clex/sexuality. I'm not actually going to view the flist, it's way too large. I have my own, more manageable flist on another LJ. The reason I friended so many people, including those I don't know, was to ensure my own anonymity, as limiting the people I friended to my own flist might show who I am. And it's not that I have anything to hide, which may seem to be the case.
Why yes, I am an oxymoron. But I understand your concern and that of other people and if you want me to unfriend you, I will.
That said, if you would like me to unfriend you, just leave a comment, and I will remove you from my flist. And if you want to stay and join in the fun, that's great too.

Sparky, the big boot-wearing turtle
It's only right, I think, that Sparky the big boot-wearing turtle lives on Galapagos. Well, not right exactly, but I don't know where else turtles live, especially ones who wear boots. And the boots aren't made of leather, that would be mean. They have to be made of something else, but I'm not sure what.
Sparky is very happy in his home, which might be Galapagos or not. He has to have some friends too. I'm sure he has some other turtle friends, but his best friend is a frog, who doesn't have a name yet.
You guys have to help me tell Sparky's story! Please?
